MARIE KING DUBERRY

Mrs. Johnnie Marie King DuBerry, age 96, passed away June 23, 2025, at Wellington Manor in Jackson, TN.

She was born November 10, 1928, in Silerton, TN the daughter of the late Robert King and Maggie Hinkle King. She attended Silerton Junior High School.

She married George Omer DuBerry on November 16, 1946, and they made their home in the Finger, TN community. She was a stay-at-home mom who loved to cook and loved taking care of her five children.

She was a member of the Estes Church of Christ in Henderson, TN and during her lifetime she taught Sunday school classes and helped her husband take care of church activities.

Mrs. Marie is survived by her children, Bonita Gordon, Marilyn Cagle (Jimmy), George DuBerry Jr. (Beverly) and Karen Frances Sanders (Rod) and Lydia Atkins (Johnny); nine grandchildren, David Russell (Tammy), the late Michelle Russell, Jenny Ashley Bean (Marty), Cathy Owens, Caleb DuBerry, Andrea Melvin (Mike), Isem Perdue (Lisa), Jason Atkins, Joseph Atkins (Kristina), and one step grandchild, Hunter Shepherd; sixteen great grandchildren and fifteen great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Glen King (Helen) and one sister, Bessie King Harris (Leonard).

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, June 28th at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Bro. Mark Blackwelder officiating. Burial will follow at Chester County Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM service time on Saturday.
