MARIE ESSARY WELLS
Milledgeville, TN: Lois Marie Rickman Essary Wells age 83 passed away Friday morning, October 16, 2015 at her home.

She was born October 4, 1932 at Milledgeville, the daughter of the late Walter R. and Sallie D. Burns Rickman. She graduated from Adamsville High School in 1950. She married Carlos Essary and they made their home at Milledgeville where they farmed. She worked at Garan Mfg. and later Bridges Supermarket and Café and also worked as a substitute Postal worker all while she continued to work in their farming business.

She was a longtime member of the Milledgeville Methodist Church and was active in the community.

Mr. Essary died in January 1989. She later married Claiborne Wells and he preceded her in death.

Mrs. Wells is survived by two sons, Ricky Essary and wife Brenda of Milledgeville and Rusty Essary of Milledgeville and a daughter, Vickie Smith and husband Billy of Savannah; a step daughter, Lynn Maness of Adamsville; six grandchildren, Brandy Cherry (Jason), Brad Freeman, Crystal Hunt (Brandon), Blake Freeman, Kevin Essary (Megan) and Trenton Essary; two step grandchildren, Kevin Maness and Leslie Maness and five great grandchildren, Sydney Marie Cherry, Bristol Cherry, Cooper Essary, Case Ethan Hunt and Maddox Freeman; and two brothers, Harold Rickman of Bolivar and Jerry Dean Rickman of Adamsville, TN

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Otis Rickman, Roy Rickman, Carl Rickman, Gene Rickman and three sisters, Beatrice Hughes, Grace Spencer and Dorothy Bridges.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Monday October 19, 2015 at Milledgeville United Methodist Church with Rev. Jimmy Dyer and Rev. Jim Griffith officiating. Burial will follow at Milledgeville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Sunday and beginning at 11:00 AM Monday at the church.
