Marie Pafford

Marie Pollard Pafford was born February 16, 1927 in Selmer, Tennessee the daughter of the late Charles L. and Lovie Lou Smith Pollard.



Ms. Pafford was a saleswoman for Avon. She was baptized and a member of St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lemont, Illinois. Ms. Pafford was a member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary in Lockport, Illinois as well as the Moose Lodge in Joliet, Illinois. She loved to sew, and she also loved horticulture. While in Joliet, she volunteered at The Rialto Theatre. After living in Illinois for 38 years, she returned to Selmer in 1990 to care for her father. She was active in basketball and walking at the Selmer Community Center during the 1990s.



Ms. Pafford departed this life on January 9, 2011 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 83 Years, 10 Months, 24 Days. She is survived by a daughter, Tina Marie Jones and husband Gary of Michie, TN; two sons, Gary Wayne Kent and wife Christabel of Douseman, WI, and Jeffery Jay Pafford and wife Laura of New Lenox, IL; 8 Grandchildren, 7 Great Grandchildren, 1 Great Great Grandchild; one sister, Joyce Tull and husband Ray of Corinth, MS, two brothers, Bill Pollard and wife Betty of Pekin, IL, and C.L. Pollard (Junior) of Water Valley, KY, two sister-in-laws, Lina Pollard of Copperas Cove, TX, and Mildred Pollard of Washington, IL; as well as several nieces and nephews.



In addition to her parents, Ms. Pafford was preceded in death by one granddaughter and one grandson; three brothers, Herbert (Hoover) Pollard and wife Vernice, R. B. Pollard, Rayburn Pollard; and a sister-in-law, Oleen Pollard.
