Marie Smith

Marie Smith departed this life on June 5, 2016 in Michie, TN at the age of 91 Years, 9 Months, 21 Days. She was born August 15, 1924 in McNairy County, TN the daughter of the late William and Daisy Cooksey Emmons. She was united in marriage to Billy Smith on December 12, 1943. Mr. Smith preceded her in death on June 27, 2002. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Smith was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Michie but had been attending Pebble Hill Methodist Church. She loved being with and taking care of her family. She enjoyed ironing and said it was relaxing to her.

She is survived by a daughter, Janice Baker and husband Kenneth of Michie, TN; two grandchildren, Jennifer Harvell and husband Randle, Greg Baker and wife Marcie; three great grandchildren, Shelby Rose, Cade Harvell, Kyler Harvell; a sister, Zelma McCoy.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by four brothers, Aber Emmons, Major Emmons, Troy Emmons, Marshall Emmons.
