MARILYN MYHAN

Bethel Springs, TN: Marilyn Sue McCormick Myhan, age 71 passed away January 12, 2026, at her home.

She was born October 8, 1954, in Peoria, IL, the daughter of the late Max Dewayne and Mary Sue Beene McCormick. She graduated from East Peoria Community High School in 1972.

Marilyn primarily worked as a social worker at Southwest Human Resource Agency for eighteen years, helping families that were in need, when someone came to her in need, she would drop everything and help in any way she could.

She was a member of the Sanford Hill Baptist Church.

She loved everything outside from her yard to her flowers to gardening. Marilyn loved her dog “Tuffy”.

She loved horses and caring for them and could not go without her coffee.

She also taught country line dancing.

Ms. Myhan is survived by two daughters, Amy Sue Edwards of Henderson and Tami Marie Schmitt of Bethel Springs; three grandchildren, Kat Harper (Jesse), Gavin Schmitt and Cheyanne Edwards and one great grandchild, Anastasia Harper; a brother, Michael Shawn McCormick (Kim) of Henderson; two sisters, Debra Harlow (Richard) of Santa Fe, TX and Cindy Brittain of Luray and a dearest best friend, Anita Austin.

A celebration of Life will be 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Thursday, January 15th at Shackelford Funeral Directors - East Main Chapel.
