Marilyn Denise Tackett, cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2024, in Bolivar, Tennessee, at the age of 70. Born on February 5, 1954, in Jackson, Tennessee, Marilyn dedicated her life to caring for others, becoming a beloved nurses aid at Bolivar Hospital and Home Health for over 54 years, until her well-earned retirement in 2022.
Marilyn's heart was filled with love for her family. She was a nurturing mother to April and 'military mom' to Lynn, as well as a proud grandmother to Matthew Brent Tackett, Mitchell Kirby, and Ashley Dacus. Her greatest joy came from doting on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Makenzie, Jayden, and Kolbie Brown. She also adored her furbaby, Kiki, who brought her immeasurable comfort and companionship.
In addition to her devotion to her family, Marilyn had a deep faith and was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Bolivar. She found peace and joy in her spirituality and often expressed a desire to travel, with the mountains holding a special place in her heart.
Marilyn was also fortunate to share her life with a loving family, which included her children, April Tackett and Richard Kirby of Middleton, Lynn and Lauri Tackett of Kentucky, sisters, Vanessa Lambert of Cloverport, Tammy Murphy and Tim of Toone, and her brother, Richard Lambert and Diane of Jackson, as well as her additional brothers and sisters, Jason Sisco of Medina, Donnie and Penny Sisco of Toone, and Gwen and Bobby Young of Bolivar.
Marilyn now joins her beloved daughter, Debra Tackett, her son, James "Bo" Tackett, her late husband, James Earl Tackett, who she married on March 6, 1970, and he passed away on November 12, 2015, as well as her father, Lemuel Lambert, and her mother and stepfather, Pat and Donald Sisco in eternal rest. Though they are no longer by her side, their love will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who remain.
Marilyn's kindness, compassion, and unwavering spirit have left an indelible mark on all who knew her. As we gather to honor her life, let us remember the love she shared and the memories we hold dear. Her legacy will continue through her family and the countless lives she touched throughout her years. Memorial donations in her name may be sent to the American Heart Association (www.heart.org) or LeBonheur Children's Medical Center (www.lebonheur.org).
