MARJORIE HOPPER
Henderson, TN: Marjorie Nell Lively Hopper age 87 passed away August 22, 2018 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
She was born November 6, 1930 in Chester County, the daughter of the late Warner and Jimmie Sue Leathers Lively. She grew up in the Deanburg area of Chester County and attended schools at Deanburg and Chester County High School. She married Bonnie Hopper in 1948. She worked at Salant & Salant, Chester Manufacturing as a department supervisor and did alterations at Belk’s Department Store in Jackson, retiring in 1971. Mr. Hopper passed away February 8, 2007.
She loved sewing, gardening, quilting, reading, and traveling.
She was a member of the New Union Baptist Church, where she was active in sewing and crocheting to help raise money for youth and missions and baking for everybody.
Mrs. Hopper is survived by two sons, Danny Hopper (Elizabeth) of Henderson and Terry Hopper (Sheri) of Jackson; four grandchildren Michael Hopper, Dustin Ross Hopper, Tyler Hopper and Kehlie Hopper and three grandchildren, Payton Rowland, Madison Hopper and Phoebe Hopper; two brothers, Gerald Lively of Clarksdale, MS and Clinton Lively of Medon, TN and a sister, Doris Parritt of Eau Claire, MI and her dear friend, Lois Reddinger of Deanburg.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother, James Howard “Buddy” Lively and Peggy Vales.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Saturday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Tommy Warner officiating. Burial will follow in New Union Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Friday.
