Martha Hewitt Gooch

Martha Hewitt Gooch of Selmer departed this life on March 26, 2013 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 85 Years, 7 Months, 8 Days. She was born August 18, 1927 in McNairy County, TN the daughter of the late Wilford and Vera Teague Jones.Mrs. Gooch was a retired dietary cook at McNairy Health Care and a former ward secretary at McNairy Regional Hospital in Selmer. She was a member of Selmer First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed music and choir, flowers, gardening, and traveling, having participated on trips with the hospital senior circle group. She is survived by a daughter, Mandy Smith and husband Raymond of Selmer, TN; a son, Stan Warren of Bethel Springs, TN; her husband, Tolbert Grady Gooch of Selmer, TN; three grandchildren, Scott Warren of Bethel Springs, TN, Libby Warren of Cordova, TN, Bethny Smith Myers and husband Brian of Murfreesboro, TN; two great-grandchildren, Julia Warren and Amy Warren; a sister, Florence Smith of Selmer; a daughter-in-law, Pat Warren of Selmer; a sister-in-law, Cordell Greer of Birch Tree, MO; a host of extended family and friends.In addition to her parents, Mrs Gooch was preceded in death by a husband, Buford L. Hewitt; two sisters, Mildred Reeder and Geraldine Hewitt.
