Martha Jane Taylor, a beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, peacefully departed this life on March 20, 2026, in Selmer, Tennessee, at the age of 86 years, 1 month, and 8 days. Born on February 12, 1940, in Selmer, she was the cherished daughter of the late Prentice Earl and Flaye Electa Kiser Moore.

On June 28, 1958, she was united in marriage to William Robert Taylor, who preceded her in death on September 11, 2012. Throughout her life, she was a devoted member of the Ramer Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where her spirit found fellowship and grace.

Martha Jane's warmth was evident in every conversation, as she effortlessly made friends wherever she went. Her gentle heart extended beyond family to her community, where she volunteered as a Pink Lady at McNairy Regional Hospital, touching many lives with kindness and compassion.

Her home was a reflection of her care and joy—a haven meticulously kept, where she delighted in rearranging, decorating, and perhaps nurturing a well-known fondness for vacuuming. Martha was renowned for her wonderful cooking; her grandchildren especially enjoyed her chocolate gravy and biscuits, a delicious symbol of her love.

A gifted gardener, Martha Jane's green thumb nurtured irises and flowers that brightened her surroundings, much like the warmth she brought to those around her. She was a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother, a source of endless love and support. Her affection extended to her faithful dog, Dolly, a beloved companion.

Martha Jane is lovingly remembered by her son, Keith Taylor of Selmer, Tennessee; her cherished grandchildren, Marlee Brock and husband Anthony of Eastview, Tennessee, and Macee Aguirre and husband Robert of Corinth, Mississippi; and her four adoring great-grandchildren, Gabby Aguirre, Dahlia Jo Brock, Ellery Aguirre, and Taylor Brock. She was also a treasured sister to: Billy Moore and wife Sue of Purdy, Tennessee, Jimmy Moore of Selmer, Tennessee, and Ray Neal Moore of Lexington, Tennessee; as well as a special aunt to Mary Ann Morris and husband Mike of Lexington, Kentucky and a host of extended family and friends also hold her memory dear.

In addition to her parents and husband, Martha Jane was preceded in death by her sisters: Mattie Moore, Nancy Souders, and Linda Meadows; and her brother Troy Moore.
