Martha Turner, 94, of Middleton, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2011 at McNairy County Hospital in Selmer.
The widow of Cleary Develin Turner, who died August 6, 1982, she was a homemaker. Mrs. Turner was born July 17, 1916 in Middleton to the late Calvin Neely Bevill and Cyrenia Margaret Shelly Bevill and lived all of her life in Hardeman County. She liked sewing, crocheting, quilting, working puzzles and gardening. Mrs. Turner was a member of the Rogers Springs Church of Christ.
Survivors include her daughter Jone Mays of Middleton; a son, Donnie Turner and his wife, Kathy, of Middleton; two sisters Jewel Curlin of Millington and Bobbie Hawkins of Pocahontas; six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren amd 5 great great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, whom she married September 22, 1943, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Mary Evans Baxter, Ruby Thompson, Mildred White, and Margie Hawkins; and two brothers John and Luther Bevill.
