Jerome Bass, a beloved member of his community, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2026, in Bolivar, Tennessee, his place of birth on October 7, 1959. Jerome's life was marked by his dedication to his career as a bricklayer and his extensive work in construction, where he was known for his skilled craftsmanship and work ethic.
A devout member of Porters Creek Baptist Church, Jerome found strength and solace in his faith and was an active participant in the community, sharing his life and love with those around him. His hobbies included hunting and fishing, pursuits that brought him great joy and allowed him to connect with nature. Jerome cherished moments spent playing cards and particularly relished the time he spent with his family, especially his granddaughter, Julie Ann. He had a deep appreciation for good food and shared many meals with loved ones.
Jerome is survived by his son, James Bass; his niece, Christa Tull; and his treasured granddaughter, Julie Ann Bass. He was preceded in death by his father, James Eldon Bass; his mother, Sadie Ruth Harrison Bass; and his brother, Martin Bass.
Family and friends were invited to celebrate Jerome's life during visitation at Shackelford Funeral Directors - Bolivar on February 10, 2026, from 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM, all took place at the same location. Jerome Bass will be remembered fondly for his warmth, kindness, and love for life, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him.
