MARVIN K. COOK
was born in Bloomington, Illinois on October 13, 1923 the son of the late Amer and Bulah Cook.
On September 8, 1999 he was united in marriage to Bess T. Taylor, who survives.
Mr. Cook served his country in the United States Navy . He was the owner and operator of Cook Machine Shop in Washington, Illinois. He later moved to Savannah, Tennessee and would spend the winter months in Babson Park, Florida. Mr. Cook was a member of Mt. Hermon Baptist Church, a Shriner in the Scottish Rite, and a 32nd Mason as well as Grandmaster in 1975.
He had no children but loved his nieces and nephews very much. Mr. Cook loved music and played in a banjo club and also played the piano at nursing homes in his later years. He enjoyed people in general and had a ready smile for everyone. Mr. Cook loved his Lord and quietly lived a faithful Christian life.
He departed this life on December 16, 2015 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 92 years, 2 months and 3 days.
In addition to his wife Bess of 16 years, he is survived by one step daughter, Lynne Weaks of Memphis, Tennessee and one step son, Steve Martin and his wife Ann of Marietta, Georgia
and four step grandchildren
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Mildred Risen Cook and two brothers, Floyd and Richard Cook.
