Marvin Edward Hicks

Marvin Edward Hicks, 81, of Waynesboro departed this life on December 18, 2017 at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville. He was born May 29, 1936 to the late Martin and Marceline Hicks of Flint, Michigan. He fought in the Korean Conflict, he was a retired member of the Tennessee National Guard and a member of Zion Baptist Church in Waynesboro.

He is preceded in death by a son, Jerry Hicks. He is survived by his wife, Irene Hicks, two sons Wayne Hicks and wife Pam and Larry Hicks and wife Janice, grandchildren, April Piper , husband Josh, LaJinda Gunn, huband Bobby all of Waynesboro, TN., Tiffany Hicks, Lawrenceburg, TN, Kyl Hicks, wife Mary, Savannah, TN, Cody Hicks, Waynesboro, TN, and Jacob, Raven, and Katie Hicks all of Collinwood, TN., also step grandson Justin Davidson, Waynesboro, TN and 8 great grandchildren.

Services will be held Saturday, December 23, 2017, 1:00 pm at Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel, Waynesboro with Bro. Danny Huckaba officiating. Burial will follow with military rights at Cole Cemetery, Waynesboro, TN. with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of the services.

Pallbearers, Kyl Hicks, Cody Hicks, Bobby Gunn, Josh Piper, Justin Davidson, Franklin Cole, and Seth Flippo.

Services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, December 23, 2017 at Shackelford Chapel, Waynesboro with Danny Huckabee and Robert gobbell officiating. Interment with military honors following in Cole Cemetery with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be Saturday from 9:30 AM until service time at 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
