Mary Jean Harbor Brewer was born at home on Tuesday, May 13, 1947 in Ridgely, TN.
After attending elementary and high school in Tiptonville, TN, she began her working life with employment as a food server at Reelfoot Lake and Samburg, TN.
Jean moved to Bethel Springs, TN in 1977, where she worked as a cook at B & Lee Cafe until it closed. She also worked as the cook and food server at White Castle Café in Selmer until she opened her own “Jean’s Country Kitchen” in Bethel Springs, which she managed until poor health forced her retirement.
In retirement, she loved spending time with her large family, reading, cooking, gardening, playing with their dogs Layla (deceased) and Clover. She departed this life on November 21, 2020 at home in Bethel Springs at the age of 73.
Jean was preceded in death by her mother Jewell Inez Harbor Green, grand-parents Cliff and Mary Pearl Harbor and by nephews Terry Wilson and Christopher Lee Brewer.
She is survived by her son Michael Dale Brewer of Bethel Springs; sisters Peggy A. Mackiewicz (Ken, deceased) of Ramer and Sheila Zebert (Jason) of Ridgeland, MS; brothers Joe Brewer (Mary) of Martin, TN, Doyle Brewer Jr. of Ridgely, TN, Cotton Roger D. Brewer (Sherry) of Ridgely, TN, and Clifford W. Brewer (Debbie) of Gautier, MS; nieces Susan McCutchen, Teresa Wilson, Mandy Brewer, Alyssa Anderson (Jon) Gabrielle Owens, Marena McCutchen, Michelle Cooper (Andy), Stephanie Wilson (Tyler), Kenzie Brewer, Marissa Anderson, Brelea Anderson, Baylor Anderson, Mavis Inez Brewer, Jordan Price, Hahnna Zebert, and Andrea Zebert; nephews Tony Wilson (Karin), Joseph Brewer, Jayden Brewer, Dustin Brewer (Danielle), and Colton Brewer, Adam Brewer (Heather), Andrew Brewer, Eli Brewer, Noah Jack Brewer, Chase Cooper, Dylan Hacker, Dalton Hacker, A J Cooper, Braxton Jernigan, Brewer Anderson, Kayson Wallace and Josh Zebert. She also has a multitude of beloved family member of Tennessee, Illinois, Michigan, Mississippi, and California.
