Mary Plunk Ganuswas born in Hardin County, Tennessee on February 23, 1916 the daughter of the late John William and Paralee Johnson Plunk.On January 18, 1946 she was united in marriage to James F. (Jamie) Ganus, who preceded her in death on April 12, 2009.Mrs. Ganus has worked for the Postal Service as Postmaster in Crump, Tennessee and as a School Teacher. She was a member of the Christian Assembly United Pentecostal Church in Adamsville, Tennessee. Mrs. Ganus served as Secretary for Crump Pentecostal Church from 1940-1955, as a Sunday School Teacher and Secretary for 13 years at the United Pentecostal Church in Savannah, Tennessee, and as the Ladies Auxiliary President for Section Six for several years at Crump Pentecostal Church. She enjoyed church and being with God's people, cooking, sewing, and fishing with Jamie.Mrs. Ganus departed this life on Saturday, July 31, 2010 at the age of 94 years, 5 months, 8 days.She is survived by 2 half sisters, Evelene Phillips of Savannah, Tennessee and Magalene Michael of Los Angeles, California; a host of nieces and nephews.In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Ganus was preceded in death by a sister, Mayzella Crow; 4 brothers, Lonie, Howard, Giles, and Roy Plunk.
