Mary Gooch, age 101, departed this life Friday afternoon, February 24, 2017 at Pine Meadows Healthcare Center in Bolivar.
The widow of Homer Lee Gooch, who died on September 19, 1980 after 42 years of marriage, she was a homemaker. She was born September 23, 1915, in Hardeman County, daughter of the late John and Cora Turner Doyle, living in Memphis since 1947 and moving back to Bolivar about 2 years ago. She was a member of Leawood Baptist Church in Memphis.
Survivors include a daughter, Gail Bailey (John) of Bartlett; a daughter in law, Donna Gooch of Memphis; 2 grandchildren, Katherine and James Bailey; and 3 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Larry Gooch; a sister, Hugholene Peak; and five brothers, Eldon, Jimmy, Tate, Wood and Marlin Doyle. Memorial contributions in her name may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
