Mary Nell Griggs

Funeral services for Mary Nell Griggs, age 89, of Waynesboro, TN will be One p.m. Friday, December 14, 2007 at Shackelford Chapel in Waynesboro with Edd Lopp officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Gardens with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County in charge of arrangements.



Mrs. Griggs, a native of Waynesboro, died on Wednesday, December 12, 2007 at Wayne Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Jackson Pulley and Annie Mae Long Pulley; her husband, Alfred Franklin Griggs; sons, Ralph Franklin Griggs, Sr., Boyd Landon Griggs, and Vernon Richard Griggs; brothers, Andrew Jackson Pulley, Frank Norman Pulley, and Larry Pulley; step-sister, Becky Staggs Morgan; and

step-mother, Dollie Mae Hill Pulley. Mrs. Griggs was a retired restaurant owner and also retired from Clifton Manufacturing. She also raised her granddaughter, Betty Griggs Peacock.



She is survived by a son, Glenn Don Griggs of Waynesboro, TN;

5 grandchildren, Betty Peacock, Ralph Griggs, Jr., James Boyd Griggs, Steve Griggs, and April Thompson;

6 great grandchildren, Kacinda Peacock, Jacob Peacock, Taylor Griggs, Morgan Griggs, Mackenzie Thompson, and Logan Thompson;

Sisters, Lona Conklin of Oregon, Ohio and Earline Ray Smotherman of Lawrenceburg, TN; and a step sister, Gladys Staggs Sherrill of Clifton, TN.
