Mary Ruth Jones Grissom

Mary Ruth Jones Grissom was born September 24, 1921 in McNairy County, TN the daughter of the late James Marion and Julia Myrtle Ramsey Whitaker.

She was united in marriage to Marvin L. Jones, who preceded her in death on November 26, 1971.

She was later united in marriage to Aubrey Grissom, who preceded her in death on September 30, 2004.

Mrs. Grissom had been a restaurant owner and operator since 1945. She operated Ruth's Restaurant in Selmer for many years prior to her retirement. Mrs. Grissom was a hard worker and a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church of Selmer.

Mrs. Grissom departed this life on April 10, 2016 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 94 Years, 6 Months, 17 Days. She is survived by a son, John Paul Jones and wife Martha Evalee of Ramer, TN; two grandchildren, Brandi (Jones) Mrozinski and husband David of Murfreesboro, TN and Paul Lee Jones and wife Jennifer of Virginia Beach, VA; four great-grandchildren: Briar Mrozinski, Gage Mrozinski, Annsley Jones, and Anistyn Jones; a sister, Mary Alice Moore of Selmer, TN; and many extended family and friends.

In addition to her parents and husbands, Mrs. Grissom was preceded in death by six sisters and seven brothers.
