Jean Haltom
Henderson: Mary Imogene “Jean” Haltom, age 92 died Thursday afternoon, March 3, 2022 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
She was born in Scotts Hill, TN on November 22, 1929, daughter of the late Curtis and Claudia Austin Scott. She grew up in Chester County, TN and married Robert Earl Haltom on June 3, 1950 and they made their home in Henderson. Mr. Haltom preceded her in death on October 20, 1995 after 45 years of marriage.
She worked at Salant and Salant in Henderson for many years before the plant closed. Shen then had a long career working for Environmental Services at Jackson Madison County General Hospital, retiring in 1995.
She enjoyed her pets, reading, gardening and canning.
She loved her family and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Dennis Haltom, Treva Prince (Tommy) and Vickie Cravens (David Morrison) all of Henderson; five grandchildren Leiann Woods, Misty Davis, Rusty Haltom, Duane Mooney and Megan McLean; eight great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers, W.E., Kie “Buster”, Cletis, James and Carl Scott; and three sisters Mildred Bailey, Dee Stanfill and Freda Clenney.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday, March 6 at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Henderson – Crook Avenue Chapel with Ronnie Geary officiating. Burial will follow in Hearn's Chapel Cemetery
The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue Chapel from 12 PM to 2:00 PM Sunday.
