Mary Louise Hunt

Mary Louise Hunt was born August 27, 1931 in Waynesboro, TN the daughter of the late William McKinley and Nona Morrison Lay. She was united in marriage to the late Freeman Stanford Hunt on September 7,1948. Mary was a devoted member of Wells Station Baptist Church in Memphis, TN. She worked as a travel agent and also a rental agent for a mortgage company. Mrs. Hunt departed this life on July 20, 2023 in Memphis, TN at the age of 91 years, 10 months, and 23 Days.

She is survived by three daughters, Mary Alice Greeson of Gatlinburg, TN,   Kathy Elizabeth Hunt of Memphis/Cordova, TN, Karen Louise Troutman of Memphis/Cordova, TN; three grandchildren, Carrie Allison Lay, Joshua Andrew Greeson, Jonathan Aaron Greeson; four great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews including, Wayne Lay, Peggy Mitchell, Danny Williams, Sandra Estes.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Hunt was preceded in death by two sisters, Era Elizabeth Lay Williams and Malvena Lay; and a brother William Lay. 

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 28, 2023, at 11:00 am to 12:30 pm at Shackelford Funeral Directors at Waynesboro,TN.
 
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 28, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Waynesboro, TN with Cary Vaughn officiating and music by Lalania Vaughn. Burial will follow in the Memorial Gardens at Waynesboro, TN with Shackelford Funeral Directors assisting the family.
