Mrs. Mary Eva Griggs Kimbel departed this life on Monday, April 12, 2010 at Crockett Hospital in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee at the age of 90 Years, 1 Month, 22 Days. She was born February 21, 1920 in Waynesboro, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Carmel Clarence and Lillian Lay Griggs.
Mrs. Kimbel was a decorator consultant and hair dresser . She was a member of the Ray's Chapel Baptist Church in Waynesboro, Tennessee, a former member of First Christian Church, and a member of the American Legion Auxilary.
She is survived by, two daughters, Sarah K. Jones (James Frank) of Lawrenceburg, TN, and Julia K. Sanford (Joseph) of Manchester, TN; grandchildren, Bart Jones, Karen Lee Busby, Julia Rust, (Brian) James S. Metcalfe IV, (Tami) and Stephen Griggs Metcalfe (Debbie); great-grandchildren; Franklin and Garrett Hughes, Kaitlin Busby, Elizabeth and Josh Metcalfe, Matthew and Mitchell Rust, and Matt Metcalfe Rust; step grandson; Jason Andrew Sanford (Shannon)
Services will be held on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Home in Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Ed Lopp and Jeff Vanlandingham officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Gardens, Waynesboro, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County directing. Pallbearers will be Bart Jones, Franklin Hughes, Garrett Hughes, Jim Metcalfe, Stephen Metcalfe, Matthew Rust, Brian Rust.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 13, 2010 from 6 pm to 9 pm and Wednesday, April 14, 2010 from 8 am to service time at the funeral home.
