Services for Mary Neva McClain, age 82, of Waynesboro will be Friday, August 17, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel in Waynesboro with Ricky Nelson and Andy Sherrill officiating. Burial will follow in Walker Cemetery near Waynesboro with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.
She was born December 19, 1929 in Wayne County, TN the daughter of the late Vernest and Edna Gladys Thompson Walker. In addition to her parents, Mrs. McClain was preceded in death by her husband, Walter McClain; two brothers, Willard and J.C. Walker; two sisters, Betty Carrington and Edith Burns, and 2 infant brothers.
Mrs. McClain died Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, Tennessee at the age of 82 Years, 7 Months, 27 Days. Mrs. McClain was a member of Friendship Baptist Church where she served as church pianist and church secretary.
She is survived by three daughters, Betty Gayle McClain and Wanda Kay Martin both of Waynesboro and and Sherry Lynn Nelson of Westpoint, TN; five grandchildren, Michael and Kevin Allen, Shane McClain, Bethany and Ricky Lee Nelson; great grandchildren, Rachel, Luke, Emma Grace, Annabelle, McKinley, and Wyatt; brother, Charles Walker and a sister, Billie Thompson both of Waynesboro.
