Mary Alice Moore

Mary Alice Whitaker Moore was born November 29, 1933 in McNairy County, TN the daughter of the late James (Jim) M. and Julia Myrtle Ramsey Whitaker.
Mary Alice was the owner of Ruth's Restaurant in Selmer and also worked as a waitress for other restaurants in the community. She had a beautiful smile, loved the color red, and was a friend to everyone she met. Mary Alice was a faithful member of the Selmer First Christian Church.
Mary Alice departed this life on November 21, 2019 in Nashville, Tennessee at the age of 85 Years, 11 Months, 23 Days. She is survived by a daughter, Sandra Kaye Thompson of MS; three sons: Stanley Ray Moore of Phoenix, AZ, Charles Anthony Moore of Hermitage, TN, and Sammy Keith Moore of Selmer, TN; 7 Grandchildren; 4 Great-Grandchildren; and many extended family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Mary Alice was preceded in death by three sisters: Mary Ruth Grissom, Montez Hill, and Frankie McDonald; a brother, Billy Joe Whitaker; and a grandchild.
