Mary Irene Morris

Mary Morris went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, November 14, 2009 in Annapolis, Maryland. She was born on December 5, 1920 in Lutts, Tennessee, the daughter of Dan and Belle Gilchrist Patterson. Mary was the wife of Gilford Ray Morris who prededed her in death. They were married on March 24, 1940 in Cloverdale, Alabama. In addition to her husband and parents, Mary was preceded in death by her two sisters, Emma Wright and Ona Sandusky, and three nephews, Charles and Jimmy Wright, and James Owen Sandusky.



Mary spent thirty-five years living in Flint, Michigan before retiring to the South for the last twenty-six years. She had many good friends and enjoyed a variety of hobbies which kept her busy during her retirement years.



She is survived by three daughters, Janet Roldan (Frank), Crofton, MD, Judy Vickers (Jim), Waterford, MI, Jo Ann Kannegieter (Terry), Paw Paw, MI; six grandchildren, Julie Maynard (Todd), Jamie Martin (Jeff), Jimmy Vickers, Jessica Roldan, Tricia and Ryan Kannegieter; two great-grandchildren, Jenna and Jake Martin; brother-in-law, Billie Morris, Chula Vista, CA; many nieces and nephews, and several very close relatives, including Jerry, Darlene and Betty Wright, and Joyce Brewer.



Services will be held on Friday, November 20, 2009 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel in Collinwood, Tennessee. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens at Collinwood, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County directing. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Brewer, Ryan and Terry Kannegieter, Jeff Martin, Jesse Pigg, Jim and Jimmy Vickers, Jerry Wright. Visitation will be Thursday, November 19, 2009 from 3 pm to 7 pm and Friday, November 20, 2009 from 9 am to service time at the funeral home.
