Mary Ruth Plunk

Mary Ruth Plunk was born August 1, 1910 in McNairy County, Tennessee the daughter of the late William E. and Ocie Briscoe Pettigrew.



She was united in marriage to Troy M. Plunk . Mr. Plunk preceded her in death on July 5, 1980.



Mrs. Plunk was a retired school teacher for 40 years at McNairy County School System, oldest member of the First United Methodist Church and the oldest charter member of the church. Mrs. Plunk received her Bachelor of Science degree from Memphis State University and was a member of McNairy County Retired Teacher Association.



Mrs. Plunk departed this life on July 17, 2007 in Germantown, Tennessee at the age of 96 Years, 11 Months, 16 Days. She is survived by daughter, Becky Kellum of Memphis, Tennessee; grandchildren, Ashley Kellum, Lauren Kellum, and Ryan Kellum.



In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Plunk was preceded in death by brother, James B. Pettigrew, and half-brother, Roy Carroll.
