Mary Katherine Rich

Mary Katherine Rich departed this life on Wednesday, October 10, 2018, 91 years, 10 months, and 8 days. She was born in Hardin County, Tennessee, on December 2, 1926, the daughter of the late Will A. and Stella Meaders Stanfield. On July 3, 1943, she was united in marriage to Emry Semon Rich, who preceded her in death on October 7, 2008.

Mary had worked for Savannah Manufacturing Company for 10 years, and was a machine operator. She loved quilting and was a member of the Sunshine Quilters Club. Mary also enjoyed reading, and watching Lady Vol basketball. She was a member of Sharon Baptist Church.

Mary is survived by her children, Carol Harris of Adamsville, Tennessee, Jana Rich of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, David Rich of Windor, Colorado, and Lonnie Rich of Navarre, Florida; grandchildren, Matthew Rich, Andrew Rich, Travis Ellison, and Wesley Harris; great grandchildren, John Forest Ellison, Cody Harris, Azelonde Ellison, Emma Rich, Micah Rich, Kayla Rich, and Lily Rich.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by her sisters, Freeda Wilson, Maxine Bowling, and Martha Fondren; and brothers, Murel Stanfield, James Dee Stanfield, Willie Glen Stanfield, Grady G. Stanfield, Jack Stanfield, and Wallace Stanfield.
