She was born in Bessy, AL the daughter of the late Grady Samuel and Eleanor Inez Atkins Clements. She left Alabama when she was twelve moving to Lockport, IL. She graduated from Lockport High School. She was married to Gordon Russell on November 15, 1962. They made their home in Joliet, IL and she worked at several different jobs. They moved to Chester County in 1992 to the Sweetlips Community. She was a member of the House of Prayer and enjoyed singing gospel music and did it professionally.She is survived by her husband, Gordon “Dude†Russell of Henderson; three sons, Butch Russell of Henderson, Mike Russell and wife Lisa of Jackson and Joe Russell of Henderson and six grandchildren, Matthew Russell, Michelle Russell, Caleb Russell, Haylee Russell, Marylin Russell and Joey Russell, Jr. and a brother, David Earl Clements and his wife Nina of Joliet, IL.
