Mary Ann Seaton, a vibrant, resilient, and deeply devoted mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2026, at the age of 87. Born on September 18, 1939, in Limanowa, Poland, to the late Anthony Dujek and Rosalia Rozek Dujek, Mary Ann’s early life was marked by courage and strength as her family immigrated to America during World War II, settling in New York.

Later, Mary Ann made her way to Chicago, where she built a full and active life. A hard worker, she was employed at several factories over the years, including Zenith and The Mercoid Corporation. It was also in Chicago that she met the love of her life, Elvis Seaton. The two were united in marriage in 1959 and shared nearly five decades of love, companionship, and happy memories until his passing on January 12, 2008.

Following her retirement, Mary Ann found incredible joy in helping to raise her beloved granddaughter, Angela, pouring the same devotion and care into the next generation. A woman of many talents and deep cultural roots, Mary Ann spoke several languages and expressed her love through food—frequently delighting her family with traditional Polish dishes and her famous homemade soups. She loved being outdoors, dancing, playing dominoes, and sharing a lively game of cards with family and friends. In her later years, she was a faithful attendee of Lakeview Baptist Church in Selmer.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Rosalia Dujek; her two brothers and sister; and her beloved husband, Elvis Seaton.

Her rich legacy of faith, family, and perseverance continues through those she leaves behind. She is survived by her daughter, Rose Brown, and husband Anthony; her granddaughters, Angela and husband Tony, Pamela, and Patrick; seven great-grandchildren: Tristen, Kristen, Tiffany, Ricky Jr., Ian, Elijah, and Jason; as well as two cherished great-great-grandchildren, along with a host of extended family members and friends who will miss her warmth and lively spirit.
