MARY RUTH SMITH
Henderson, TN: Mary Ruth Smith age 87 passed away January 17, 2017 at her home.
She was born November 12, 1929 in Chester County, the daughter of the late Bunyan Emanuel and Minnie Jane Brewer Smith. She graduated from Chester County High School. She helped work the family farm for many years. She enjoyed gardening and doing jigsaw puzzles.
She is survived by a sister, Hazel Jean Addington of Memphis; three brothers, Lonnie D. Smith of Jackson, James Grady Smith of Henderson and Horace E. Smith of Memphis and also several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Ernest Lee Smith.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Friday, January 20, 2017 at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Johnson Chapel with Bro. Paul Scott officiating. Burial will follow in Smith Cemetery at Enville, TN.
The family will receive friends at Johnson Chapel beginning at 11:00 AM Friday.
