Mary Bess Steele departed this life on Saturday, December 9, 2017, at the age of 64 years, 2 months, and 17 days. She was born in Booneville, Mississippi on September 22, 1953, the daughter of the late Frank and Gladys Roper Steele.
Mary graduated from Booneville High School class of 1971. She went on to receive her Associate Degree at Northeast Community College in Booneville, Mississippi and later attended Ole Miss. She loved to read and sing, and in her younger years she sang in the church choir. Mary was a dialysis patient and survivor for 20 years.
She is survived by a brother, David Ussery and wife Nancy of Clarksville, Tennessee; her nieces, Elizabeth and Loretta; a great niece; a great nephew; and special family, Alisa Jones, Andy Jones, and Christopher Jones, all of Adamsville, Tennessee.
Memorial donations can be made to the American Kidney Fund.
