Mary Ada Stricklin

Mary Ada Berry Stricklin, age 92 of Waynesboro, Tennessee passed away early Wednesday morning, May 16th., 2012 at Wayne County Nursing Home in Waynesboro, Tennessee.



She was born December 14, 1919 to the late William Henry and Elsie Katherine Horton Berry who preceded her in death. She was a native of Wayne County, Tennessee, a retired employee of Clifton Manufacturing Company, and a member of the Collinwood Freewill Baptist Church.



She married Jay William Stricklin on November 27, 1938 and they made their home in the Lutts community till 1973, before moving to Waynesboro. Mr. Stricklin preceded her in death on May 12, 1977. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Anthony Lynn Harris, two brothers - Johnnie Joe "Jab" Berry and Bonnie Earl Berry and one sister Roxie (Berry) Berry.



She is survived by two daughters, Mary Joyce Stricklin Burks and husband, Ronald Lee Sr. and Janice Stricklin Harris and husband, Taylor Lee all of Waynesboro.



Three grandchildren, Ronald Lee (Ronnie) Burks, Jr. and wife, Amy Elizabeth; Loria Lynn Burks Morrow and husband, Randall; Brian Lee Harris and wife, Tina all of Waynesboro.



Eight great-grandchildren; Laranda Joy Morrow Strickland and husband, Anthony; Raymond Blake Morrow and wife, Samantha; Marlon Jay Burks and wife, Brandy; Melonie Elizabeth Burks Pope and husband Stan; Austin Lee Burks; Keisha Harris Cherry and husband Chad; Brilee Anthony Harris and Brayson Avery Harris.



Four great-great-grandchildren; Dalton Wayne Strickland; Reece Edward Morrow; Mary Elizabeth Pope; Case Justin Cherry, and expectant baby Burks due in November.



Three sisters and one brother; Anne Holt and husband Bobby; Wyylodean Fite and husband, Jerry; Mable Cameron and her beloved (deceased) husband, Alton all of Hohenwald, Tennessee; James Henry Berry and wife, Iva Jean of Collinwood, Tennessee.



A host of nieces and nephews both Berry and Stricklin who she loved dearly.



Pallbearers are Danny Berry, Ronnie Berry, Mike Smith, Wilburn Franks, Barry Fite, Jason Fite, John Allen Berry, Elzo Berry, Leo Berry, Darrell Cameron, and Jeff Cameron.



Services will be Friday, May 18, 2012 at One p.m. at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel in Waynesboro with Brother Tim Hanback and Brother Bobby Pinckley officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens at Collinwood with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.
