Mary Bess Tate was born May 2, 1929 in McNairy County, TN the daughter of the late William Virgil and Mary Lessie Henson Murray.
She was united in marriage to Fletcher D. Tate on June 13, 1967. Mr. Tate preceded her in death on January 11, 2012.
Before she became disabled, Mrs. Tate loved to work in her garden. Her favorite pastime was fishing and visiting with friends and family. Mrs. Tate loved her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren and had a helping hand in raising them. She loved to go to church and loved her church family. Mrs. Tate had a great sense of humor and enjoyed pulling pranks. She had a mischievous streak and a great smile, and will be missed by all who knew her.
Mrs. Tate departed this life on August 17, 2017 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 88 Years, 3 Months, 15 Days. She is survived by a daughter, Debbie Wilson and husband Jeff of Bethel Springs, TN; a son, Tony Inman and wife Debbie of Homer Glen, IL; seven grandchildren: Sam Inman and wife Yorino, Kevin Inman, Kim Johnson, Nikki Fletcher, Brian Howell, Stephanie Howell, and Josh Gary; nine great-grandchildren: Blake Talley, Jeremy Johnson, Jamie Johnson, Colby Roberts, Peyton Roberts, Dustin Grimes, Jalyn Howell, Khris Worsham, and Joshua Gary; four great-great-grandchildren: Landon Taylor, Ryder Talley, Raelynn Talley, and Maddy Jones; a sister, Pauline Walker of Adamsville, TN; two sisters-in-law, Doretta Murray and Francis Murray, both of Bethel Springs, TN; four brothers: Bruce Murray and wife Betty and John Ross Murray and wife Lola, all of Bethel Springs, TN, Larry Murray and wife Janice and Garry Murray and wife Diane, all of Adamsville, TN; and many extended family and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Tate was preceded in death by a sister and bother-in-law, Joyce and Johnny Plunk; three brothers and a sister-in-law: O'Neal Murray, Will Tom Murray, Gordon Murray and wife Jessie; and a brother-in-law, Willard Walker.
