MARYLAND MOORE AUSTIN
Pinson, TN: Willie Maryland Moore Austin age 89 passed away Tuesday morning January 12, 2016 at her daughter’s home.
She was born December 21, 1926 in the Montezuma community of Chester County, the daughter of the late William Charles and Eula Patterson Allen Moore. She went to school in Chester County and graduated Chester County High School. She married Gilbert Paul Austin in 1943. They made their home in Pinson. Mrs. Austin worked at the Pinson Mound State Nursery for over thirty years, retiring in 1996. She was a member of the Pinson Baptist Church. Mr. Austin passed away in 1985. She loved outside, gardening and raising flowers.
Mrs. Austin is survived by a daughter, Sheila K. Armour and husband David of Pinson; grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Gilbert Paul Austin in 1985, a daughter, Deanie Talbott Nichols and two brothers, Sam Moore and Joe Moore.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Thursday, January 14, 2016 at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel with John Gaters and Kyle Morris officiating and burial will follow in Montezuma Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Casey Chapel beginning at 10:00 AM Thursday until service time at 1:00 PM Thursday.
