“TILLIE” HOGANCAMP
Henderson, TN: Matilda Ann Hogancamp age 90 passed away August 31, 2018 at her home.
She was born December 25, 1927 in Columbus, KY to the late George Rexford and Willena Jeannette White Mountjoy. She graduated from Clinton High School in Clinton, KY and attended Blue Mountain College in Ripley, MS for two years. She married Harold Rudolph Hogancamp on March 29, 1947.
They moved to Henderson where they owned Hi-Way Texaco Service Station and Hi-Way Wrecker Service. She was a homemaker and also worked as bookkeeper for the business until 1980.
She was a Charter member of the Sanford Hill Baptist Church and was also a Sunday School Teacher.
She was a member of the Home Demonstration Club, Eastern Star Shriner Women’s Club. She also sold Mary Kay Beauty Products.
Mrs. Hogancamp is survived by a son, Harold Hogancamp and wife Beverly of Memphis and two daughters, Jenine M. Hogancamp of Henderson and Joy Ann Cox of Bolivar; four grandchildren, Brent Wayne Hogancamp (Lauren) of Memphis, Lindsay Dunahoo (Cale) of Arlington, Michael Armour (Jennifer) of Sherwood, AR and Anna Leath (David) of Henderson; nine great grandchildren, Nicole Dunphy (Jesse), Maddox Armour, Hunter Owens, Skylar Sheffield, Dalton Sheffield, Zane Leath, Daniel Watkins, Raegan Watkins and Rowan Dunahoo; two great-great grandchildren, Aaron Dunphy and Evan Dunphy.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Harold Rudolph Hogancamp on December 24, 1997, two sisters, Lew Allen Pracido and Sarah Alice Gaddie and a brother, George King Mountjoy.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Monday, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Ken Kitchen officiating. Burial will be 3:30 PM Monday at Roselawn Cemetery in Bardwell, KY.
The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Sunday.
