Matthew K. (Bo) Whitley age 69, of Selmer, Tennessee, departed this life on Tuesday, November 17, 2009, at his home after a long illness. Mr. Whitley was born in McNairy County on February 29, 1940, to the late Jake Whitley and Eather Wardlow Whitley. He served in the United States Army from 1956 to 1959 and was a brick mason by trade. He was united in marriage to Sue Wilbanks on May 24, 1989. Other than his wife Sue, he is survived by three daughters, Sherra Whitley Cagle, of Purdy, Tennessee, Lisa Pickens, of Savannah, Tennessee, and Kim Cooke, also of Savannah; three sons, Chris Whitley, of Selmer, Morris Whitley, of Selmer, and Steve Florence of Savannah; three brothers, Marvin Whitley, Harold Whitley, and Neal D. Whitley, all of Selmer; two sisters, Sabra Wilbanks, of Stantonville, Tennessee, and Nola (Judy) McMahan, of Selmer; 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. A host of nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends. Mr. Whitley was loved by many and will be missed very much. Other than his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son Tony K. Whitley, a sister, Eather Pearl Jordan, and a brother, William Whitley.
