Mrs. Mattie Velma Dixon Brison departed this life on Sunday, November 20, 2016 at Waynesboro Health and Rehabilitation in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 96 Years, 9 Months, 7 Days. She was born February 13, 1920 in Collinwood, TN the daughter of the late William James and Sarah Elizabeth Avery Dixon. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Brison was preceded in death by
son, Billie John Brison, brothers, Esley Dixon, McKinley Dixon, Milford Dixon, Alvin Dixon, Grayson Dixon, Warden Dixon, sisters, Ruth Davis, Mary Brewer, Ethel Ramsey, Naomi Horton.
She was united in marriage to Earl Brison on December 25, 1936. Mr. Brison preceded her in death on July 17, 1989.
Mrs. Brison was a homemaker , member of the Shawnettee United Methodist Church, and Shawnettee United Methodist Women.
She is survived by sons, Kenneth E. Brison and wife Helen of Fairview, TN, David L. Brison and wife Katherine ,daughters, Sara A. Butler and husband Travis , Betty K. Daniel and husband Arlie all of Collinwood, TN, grandchildren, Randy Brison (Denise), Mark Brison (Gwen), Rene Job (Phil), Scott Brison (Katherine), Tracy Brison (Peg), Brian Brison (Brittney), Carla Rich (Stan), Paula Ayers, Biff Butler (Bradlee), Ben Daniel (Wendy), Blake Daniel(Bobbie), great grandchildren, Todd (Kate), Ian, Steven (Kaitlin), Dakota, Brandon, Ryan, Jordan, Caitlin, Mitchell, Riley, Nick, Grace and Kate Brison, Kristin (Cory), Burkeen, Ashley and Heidi Job, Jessica (Zach),Bradford, Libby and Brock Laminack, Sara Reaves, Trevin and Garrett Ayers, Madison, Rachel and Grace Butler, Ashton, Caroline, Alec, Kaylee and Presley Daniel, great-great grandchildren, Teagan, Brison and Gunner Burkeen, William Travis Reaves, Tymber Bradford, and host of nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at 3:00 PM Shawnettee United Methodist Church in Collinwood, Tennessee .Burial will follow in Shawnettee Cemetery, Collinwood, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 23, 2016, 12:00 noon until service time @ Shawnettee United Methodist Church.
