Mattie Jean Moore Griffin was born May 18, 1942 in Selmer, Tennessee the daughter of the late Prentice Earl and Flaye Electa Kiser Moore.
Mrs. Griffin attended school in Adamsville and graduated from Selmer High School. She was employed for many years with Tri-County Convalescent Center in Adamsville as a cook. She enjoyed painting, solving word puzzles, cooking, and playing the piano. Mattie loved her family very much, and enjoyed spending time with her sisters, brothers, nieces, and nephews. She loved all animals, but especially her dogs, cats, and birds. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Selmer.
Mrs. Griffin departed this life on January 23, 2011 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 68 Years, 8 Months, 5 Days. She is survived by three sisters, Martha Jane Taylor and husband Robert of Selmer, TN, Nancy Faye Souders and husband Ralph of Ramer, TN, Lynda Meadows and husband Marvin of Pinson, TN; four brothers, Billy B. Moore and wife Wanda Sue of Adamsville, TN, Jimmy Earl Moore of Selmer, TN, Dee Troy Moore and wife Ann of Michie, TN, Roy Neal Moore of Lexington, TN; numerous nieces and nephews; and many extended family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Griffin was preceded in death by a niece, Rhonda Gail Ingle, a nephew, Michael Royce Cardwell, and two sisters-in-law, Shelia Moore and Beverly Moore.
