MATTIE MAE WINTERS JACKSON

was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on November 11, 1934 the daughter of the late Andrew and Myrtle Winters.

On May 4, 1963 she was united in marriage to Arthur Lee Jackson, who preceded his wife in death on March 6, 1987.

Mrs. Jackson worked for 30 plus years for Angelica Manufacturing. She was a member of St. Mark Baptist Church. Mrs. Jackson enjoyed singing and one her favorite songs was " I know my Bible is right". She had a outgoing smile that was gorgeous and she could make you laugh and cry when speaking to you. Mrs. Jackson enjoyed talking on the phone to everyone and sitting at her door and watching traffic drive by. Mrs. Jackson was a very independent lady and did not ask for anything and she definitely said whatever was on her mind.
She was a very loving mom and her family is going to miss her very much.

Mrs. Jackson departed this life on October 12, 2018 at her residence in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 83 years, 11 months and one day.

She is survived by her children, Sharon D. Jackson of Pulaski, Tennessee, Kimberly C. Atkins of Savannah, Tennessee, James L. Jackson and his wife Debra of Tiptonville, Tennessee, David L. Jackson and his wife Ashley of Savannah, Tennessee, Charma S. Jackson of Savannah, Tennessee, Tracy C. Dixon and his wife Rebecca of Savannah, Tennessee and two step sons, Jackie Collins and his wife Sundae and Dorris Collins, both of Nashville, Tennessee; one sister, Juanita Fry of Savannah, Tennessee; 17 grandchildren, Tia Jackson, Alveto Higgins, Tobias Ratliff, Emanual Benton, Avery Taylor, Cardiss Atkins, Jasmine Collier, Sunita Collier, Charay Atkins, Christon Irons, Caliegh Dixon, Landin Harville, Karson Jackson, Amoni Jackson, Aleeya Dixon, Delmer Dixon, and Desmond Jackson; 19 great grandchildren; one aunt, Wilma Bumpus; and a special friend, Maude Ross. Mrs. Jackson is also survived by a host of neices, nephews, cousins and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by
one son, Delmar Jackson, step daughter, Marie Sterling, son-in-law, Ray Neal Atkins, four brothers, Truman Winters, Hilliard Winters, Alex Young and William Winters and two sisters, Lucy Winters and Albanie Word.
