Mattie Ruth Adams Staggs Robbins, beloved resident of Collinwood, TN, passed away on April 2, 2026, at the age of 87. She was born on March 4, 1939, to the late Thomas and Beulah Mae Holt Adams.

Ruth devoted many years of her life working as a machine operator at Angelica Manufacturing Company, where her hard work and kindness were cherished by colleagues. She was a devoted member of the Millrock Freewill Baptist Church in Collinwood, TN where her faith and community spirit were a shining example to all who knew her.

Ruth’s heart was full of love, having been united in marriage first to Abraham "Man" Staggs, who preceded her in death in 1991, and later to Sydney Robbins, who passed away in 2001.

Throughout her life, Ruth found pleasure in the simple beauties of springtime and flower gardening. She loved spending time with her sister at yard sales, pouring over word books, and attending church services. Most of all, Ruth treasured moments spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whose lives she touched deeply.

Her gentle spirit and loving nature will be dearly missed, remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She is survived by her son Dwayne Norman Staggs (Christy); sister, Doris A. Vaden; grandchildren, Kash Staggs, and Cheyanne Staggs; and great grandchildren, Octavia Staggs, Mithias Staggs, and Arya Staggs.

In addition to her parents and husbands, Ruth was preceded in death by her brothers, Thomas Edward Adams, Billy Joe Adams, and Manuel Dale Adams; and sisters, Thelma Jean Staggs, Iva Nell Talley, and Dorothy Mae Pope.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm service time at Millrock Freewill Baptist Church in Collinwood, TN.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at 2:00 pm at Millrock Freewill Baptist Church in Collinwood, TN with Greg Eaton officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Gardens of Wayne County in Collinwood, TN.

Pallbearers will be Steven Kephart, Brandon Adams, Brian Adams, Franklin "Nub" Staggs, Randy Heathcoat, and Jeff Daniels.
