Maude Ruth Franks Worley Fisher was born on December 9, 1930, the daughter of the late Carl Wayne and Maude Jane Tucker Franks. She departed this life on July 30, 2017, at the age of 86 years, 7 months, and 21 days.
Ruth was a member of Wesley's Chapel Methodist Church for 77 years, she had been a member there since she was 9 years old. She was also a member of Eastern Star and a community service volunteer. Ruth was born in Waterloo, Alabama where she resided for six years, then she lived in the Pyburn and Nixon communities for the remainder of her life. Before retiring, she worked as a fancy stitcher for the Brown Shoe Company for 43 years. Ruth received her diploma in 1976 from Central High School, at the same time as her daughter, Cathy. She loved puzzles, playing rummy, traveling, and quilting. Ruth was known as the "yard sale queen." She enjoyed music and singing and was an alto in a quartet.
Ruth is survived by her two daughters, Ruth Ann Worley Hughes and her husband Bobby and Cathy Jane Worley Boeklen and her husband Richard; two sisters, Jane Keating and Martha Busbee; two brothers, Len Franks and Otis Franks; nine grandchildren, Robert Hughes II, Jennifer Dominquez, Jackie Sevier, Flora Strawbridge, John Winborn II, Christie White, Jessica Cole, Joseph Winborn, and Geoffrey Boeklen; and sixteen great grandchildren, Kelsey Hughes, Kaitlin Hughes, Robert Hughes III, Amanda Dominquez, Eliana Sevier, Emma Sevier, Eden Sevier, Makayla Strawbridge, Zac Strawbridge, Xander Strawbridge, Hatcher Strawbridge, Caden Strawbridge, J Winborn III, Haven Winborn, Allie Winborn, and Jacoby Boeklen.
In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her four sisters, Anna Kirkland, Emogene Cox, Margaret Rowlette, and Marie Franks, and her seven brothers, Earl Franks, Taylor Franks, Allen Franks, Carl Wayne Franks, Jr., Omby Franks, John Franks, and Paul Franks.
