Maurine Crowe

Maurine Ross Crowe- Henderson, TNMrs. Maurine Crowe was born in Chester Co. the daughter of the late Ellis and Lula Newsom Ross on January 12, 1921. Mrs. Crowe passed away on August 24, 2009 at the age of 88. Mrs. Crowe married Mr. Howard Crowe on January 20, 1943 and they made their home in Henderson together. He preceded her in death in September of 1983. She had worked for Salant and Salant, KAP III, and I Appel as a seamstress. She attended Unity Baptist church where she was one of the quilting ladies. Mrs. Crowe is survived by a daughter Judy K Davis, a granddaughter Lisa Davis Hopper, and a great grandson Cody Wayne Hopper all of Henderson.In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Crowe was preceded in death by three sisters; Lela Coady, Fidelia Morris, and Allene Stout. She was also preceded by a son-in-law Jerry Davis.Funeral services will be Thursday, August 27, 2009 at 11 A.M. at Shackelford-Johnson Chapel with burial to follow at Johnson Cross Road Cemetery.
