Henry Frost, of Hardeman County, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2026, in Jackson, Tennessee, at the age of 81. Born on December 14, 1944, in Hardeman County, Henry lived his entire life in the community he cherished.
A 1963 graduate of Bolivar Central High School, Henry spent his formative years working diligently on the family farm. His love for Hardeman County was evident in his lifelong commitment to serving his neighbors and helping to strengthen the local community. Throughout his varied and industrious career, Henry owned and operated the John Deere Dealership in Hardeman County—a cornerstone for local farmers and families. He also devoted time to the Hardeman County Road Service and worked briefly as a rural mail carrier, always approaching his responsibilities with dependability and dedication.
Henry’s life was marked by an abiding joy in simple pleasures and heartfelt passions. He delighted in restoring old cars and trucks, an endeavor that reflected his appreciation for craftsmanship and nostalgia. His yard was a testament to his hard work and care, often found outside tending to its beauty. Henry’s connection to the land and to his home ran deep, spending his entire life in the place he loved most.
A devoted member of Hickory Valley Baptist Church, Henry’s faith and kindness were well known to all who met him. He cherished time spent with his family and friends, providing steady support, wisdom, and warmth across generations.
Henry is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy West Frost, whose partnership and companionship were central to his life. He leaves behind his sister, Maxine Johnson; brothers, Benard Frost (Patricia), Tony Frost (Sheila);. He will be fondly remembered by his sisters-in-law—Leatha Frost, Debbie Frost, Linda Frost, Pat Selfield, and Pam Brown—each of whom held a special place in his heart. Additionally he is survived by many nieces and nephews who deeply cared for him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Max Henning Frost and Evelyn Nelms Frost, his brothers, Dr. Charles L. Frost, Robert Frost, Terry Frost, and Danny Frost, and his sisters, Mary Diane Frost and Nancy Hartley. He is also remembered alongside his departed brothers-in-law: Donald West, Billy Morris West, Nickey West, and Wallace West.
The family invites friends and loved ones to honor Henry’s memory at a graveside service on Monday, July 21, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Bolivar Memorial Cemetery, located at 401 Orange St., Bolivar, TN 38008.
Henry Frost will be remembered for his unwavering work ethic, his gentle spirit, and the great love he held for his family and community. His legacy will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him. Memorials in his name may be sent to Hickory Valley Baptist Church.
