Max Ray Gately

MAX RAY GATELY, SR.was born in Sweetlips, Tennessee community on January 3, 1938 the son of the late W. P. and Esther Young Gately.He was united in marriage to Kattye Marie Ritter, who preceded her husband in death on December 6, 2000.Mr. Gately was a heavy equipment operator for CSMI and numerous other places. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Mr. Gately was Baptist in belief.He departed this life on January 12, 2010 at the Hardin Medical Center in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 72 years and 9 days.Mr. Gately is survived by one son, Max Ray Gately, Jr. of Saltillo, Tennessee5 daughters, Teresa Fay Russell and Vickie Lynn Smith, both of Henderson, Tennessee, Sharon Marie Whitten of Crump, Tennessee, Lora Ann Combs of Adamsville, Tennessee and Teresa Elaine Bass of Detroit, Michigan.10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildrenone sister, Jorine Zidnack of Memphis, Tennessee and one brother, Paul Hayes Gately of Wieser, IdahoIn addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Gately was also preceded in death by one sister, Exie Pickett; 3 brothers, Guy, Leonard and Dewayne Gately; a granddaughter, Ashley Nicole Bass.
