Maxine Phillips was born on November 20, 1941 in Cerro Gordo, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Elbert and Kate Howard Copeland.
On July 08, 2017, she was united in marriage to Russell J. Posternock, who survives.
Maxine owned Maxine's House of Music for 40 years. She performed on the Doc Whitaker radio show at 11 years old. She was a member of New Harmony Baptist Church. Maxine taught music, loved singing, and played the piano for over 60 years. She played at Freedom River Media Ministry in Adamsville, Tennessee for many years.
Maxine Phillips departed this life on July 22, 2024 in Corinth, Mississippi at the age of 82 years, 8 months, and 2 days.
She is survived by her husband Russell J. Posternock of Savannah, Tennessee; two nieces, Terri Garrison of Savannah, Tennessee and Jeanne King of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; nephew, Steve Copeland of Fort Myers, Florida; and three exchange students that were very close to her and they called her "mom", Pavit from Sweden, Onintza from Germany, and Tanja from Germany.
In addition to her parents, Maxine was preceded in death by her first husband, David Phillips; brother, Howard Copeland; and nephew, Tommy Copeland.
