Maxine Robinson Scott of Florence, AL was born January 23, 1926 in Sharpsburg, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Clyde N. and Nettie Jane Petitt Robinson. She was united in marriage to Grayford Ruben Scott on February 6, 1943 and he preceded her in death on April 8, 2003.
Mrs. Scott was a homemaker and a member of the Royal Avenue Freewill Baptist Church in Florence, Alabama. She and her late husband had lived in Memphis, TN forty-two years before moving to Florence, AL in 2002.
Mrs. Scott departed this life on Monday, April 4, 2011 at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital in Florence, Alabama at the age of 85 Years, 2 Months, 12 Days.
She is survived by daughters, Jane Cooper and husband, Joe, Jean Grigsby and husband, Larry, and Vicki Voyles; a sister, Louise Patrick and husband, Bill all of Florence, AL; eight grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at 3:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel, Collinwood, Tennessee, with Emerald Bailey and Sonny Bogus officiating. Burial will be in McGlamery Cemetery, Collinwood, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors directing. Pallbearers will be John Vo, Rusty Cooper, Mike Cooper, Josh Escue, Ian Rutledge, and Jeremy Vo. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 6, 2011 from noon until service time at the funeral home.
