Maxwell Dexter Warrington departed this life February 2, 2017 at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital in Florence Al. at the age of 88 years. He was born November 14, 1928 to the late John Carlos and O'Della Southerland Warrington. He was united in marriage to the late Viva Ruth Montgomery, December 25, 1949 and she preceded him in death June 27, 2006.
A graduate of the 1945 Collinwood High School, he worked clearing farmland for Pa John, Brown Shoe Company, and owner operator of Warrington Service Station in Lutts TN for 44 years. After retirement he raised cattle and cut and sold firewood. He was a member of Lutts Methodist Church and Woodmen of the World. A loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend to many.
He was survived by daughter, Kathy Warrington Franks and husband Jimmy Ray, son, Kenneth Warrington and wife Sherry, and daughter-in-law Pam all of Lutts. Grandchildren, Jennifer Franks Keeton and husband James, Jody Franks, Jonathan Warrington and wife Kari, Kendra Warrington Smith and husband Sam, Lauren Warrington McFall and husband Jeremy, Adam Alexander and wife Charrity, and Andrew Alexander. Great-Grandchildren, Jesse and Jonah Keeton, Kyra and Lynlee Warrington, Mackenly Smith, Annistyn McFall, Katie and Kolby Alexander. Sisters Patsy Austin and husband Titus and Peggy Griggs several nieces and nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by a son Joseph Albert Warrington, great-grandchildren Gabriel Smith and Kylie Alexander and brothers John S., Jerry, and Tom Warrington.
Services will be held on February 4, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel in Collinwood, Tennessee, with Tommy Flood officiating. Burial will follow in the Lutts Cemetery at Lutts, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers include: Jody Franks, Jonathon Warrington, James Keeton, Sam Smith, Jeremy McFall, Adam Alexander, and Andrew Alexander. Visitation is Saturday from 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
Family requests in lieu of Flowers donations be given to Lutts United Methodist Buillding Fund.
