Maye Sherrill Frix age 88, of Henderson, passed away at home in the arms of her children on Friday June 12, 2026.  She is forever more healed, healthy and praising her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, finally united with precious loved ones for whom she has grieved.

She married James Frix in 1954, at the age of 16, and they made their home in Henderson for 71 years until his passing on August 29, 2025.

After graduation from high school, she began working at the court house in the tax office. She kept books for several businesses in town and prepared income tax for many locals during tax season yearly. She worked full-time from the age of 18 until retirement at age 74, working in accounts receivable for manufacturing businesses.

She came to a saving faith in Jesus at the age of 12, attending a mission of Pinson Baptist Church which was started in the Wilson School Community. This later became Antioch Baptist Church, and she played piano there for many years.

She is survived by one son, Carey Frix (Nicole Jennings) of Henderson; a daughter Mitzi Frix Graves (Robin) of Jackson; a daughter-in-law Kindra Frix of Henderson; six grandchildren Whitney Cupples (Malcolm), Wesley Frix (Mary), Sarah Baldwin (Trent), Abby Frix, Drew Frix and John Frix; and two great grandsons Wyatt Anthony Frix and Toby James Cupples. She also had many precious nieces and nephews.

Maye was preceded in death by her husband, James Frix, son Anthony Frix, grandson Ryan Graves, identical twin Faye Ross, brother Billy Jack Sherrill (Gloria), sister Frances Sherrill and parents Wallace and Beatrice Sherrill.

The family would like to thank special caregiver BJ Jackson for her loving care these past weeks, and the amazing aide, nurses, social worker and Chaplain of Legacy Hospice.

She was a precious wife, Mama, Granny, Aunt Maye, sister, daughter and friend who made sure everyone knew what really mattered-- knowing Jesus.
