Maynard Roy (Mossey) Smith

Mr. Maynard Roy "Mossey" Smith departed this life on Thursday May 18, 2017 at his residence in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 86 Years, 10 Months, 19 Days. He was born June 29, 1930 in Waynesboro, TN, the son of the late William Louis and Myrtle Fitzpatrick Smith. In addition to his parents, Mosey was preceded in death by brothers, Louis Allen Smith, Guy Smith, Cecil Smith and Walter Smith, sisters, Ruby Irwin Keeton, Pearl Griggs Wallace, and Jewel Smith.

He was united in marriage to Julia Ann Brewer on November 15, 1974.

Mr. Smith was retired from TVEC as foreman of the right way crew . He was a member of the Leatherwood Baptist Church in Waynesboro, Tennessee.

He is survived by his wife Julia Ann Brewer Smith, daughters, Tara Ann York Fitton, husband Shelton , Tracy Lynne York Kilburn, husband Cleo, son, Anthony Wayne Smith all of Waynesboro, TN, granddaughter, Aubree Eva Allen, husband John, brother, William Clyde Smith of Toledo, OH., sister, Mary Nell Pierce of Waynesboro, TN., sisters in law, Frances Smith of Hendersonville, TN, Judy Smith of Toledo, OH, several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Monday, May 22, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Home chapel in Waynesboro, Tennessee with Chris Brewer and Dion Pulley officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens, Waynesboro, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County in charge of the arrangements. Pallbearers are Larry Smith, Robert Smith, Lowell Smith, Blake Staggs, Guy Hampton, and Greg Floyd, honorary pallbearers are Clint Smith, Guy Smith, Joe Smith, Bill Smith, and Steve Smith. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Alzheimer's Association.

Visitation will be on Sunday, May 21, 2017 a5:00-9:00 pm Monday, May 22, 2017 8:00 am until service time @ Shackelford Funeral Home, Waynesboro.
