Mel R. Freese



was born in St. Louis County, Missouri on January 10, 1933 the son of the late Milton and Ivy Moodestaw Freese.



On June 25, 1961 he was united in marriage to Martha Clausel, who survives.



Mr. Freese had his Masters Degree and was a Marketing Executive Director. He had worked for Merk for 30 years, Calgon as a Corporation Director and Secretary. He taught Economics and Marketing for 30 years at various colleges including: Webster University, St. Louis Community College and was a Professor at St. Louis University. Mr. Freese was listed in the "Who's Who's Business Executive" in 1981. He was involved with the Saber Baseball Research - Bob Brog St. Louis Chapter.



Mr. Freese was a US Army Veteran and was very patriotic. His first love was history of his country, he loved to gather facts and trivia. He loved research and genealogy, he helped to compile many books on genealogy. He was a writer of 5 published books, writing became a hobby after retirement. Reading was a favorite past time, he also enjoyed old movies and westerns.



Mr. Freese departed this life on Thursday, February 10, 2011 at the age of 78 years, 1 month.



In addition to his wife, Martha, he is survived by a son, Charles D. (Martha Kinney) Freese of Savannah, Tennessee; a grandchild, Tanya Freese; 2 great grandchildren, Gavin Clifton and Joe Clifton; a sister, Shirley (James) Sictor of Suffolk, Virginia; 2 brothers, Larry Freese of Granite City, Illinois and Gordon (Lois) Freese of St. Louis, Missouri.
