Melba Eva Flury Wilson

Melba Eva Flury Wilson of Waynesboro, TN was born December 14, 1923 in the Swiss Colony in Hohenwald, TN, the daughter of the late Peter Flury, Jr., born in Schwanden, Switzerland and Eva Liebhart Flury, born in Grossau, Austria-Hungary. She was united in marriage to Ted Wilson in 1947 and he preceded her in death in April, 1993.

Mrs. Wilson retired from Billings and Maynard after 30 years as a sales clerk . She was baptized in the Germany Methodist church in the 1930's but attended Green River Baptist Church in Waynesboro, Tennessee until her health began to fail.

Mrs. Wilson departed this life on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at Waynesboro Health and Rehab in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 92 Years, 5 Months, 25 Days where she had resided since 2013.

She is survived by a nephew, Billy Shaw, Sr. of Mt. Juliet, TN; great-nieces and great-nephews, Lynnette Meece, Johnny Thoni, Jr., Cindi Thoni Allen, Robert J. Thoni, Sr., Debbie Shaw Jackson, Joseph Thoni, Luanne Birdwell and Billy Kemp, Jr. and a very close and dear friend, Sherry McDonald.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by sisters, Louise Flury Thoni and Ann Flury Shaw.

A graveside service will be Saturday, June 11, 2016 at Memorial Gardens, Waynesboro, Tennessee with Cal Hampton officiating. Burial will follow with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing. Pallbearers will be Colby and Tyler McDonald, Brandon Lucy, Robert Jeffrey Thoni, Mark W. Allen and Johnny Thoni, Jr.

Visitation will be from 10 am to 12 noon, Saturday, June 11, 2016 at Shackelford Funeral Directors, Waynesboro, TN.

Mrs. Wilson's family wants to thank the staff of Waynesboro Assisted Living, Waynesboro Health and Rehab and Tennessee Quality Hospice for their caregiving during Mrs. Wilson's last years.
